Our Environment is More than Just a responsibility
In October 2023, Sarasota Honey Company was honored to be recognized by the University of Florida Honeybee Lab as one of Florida's top 5 innovative and successful honey producers.
This recognition from UF, and the invitation for Alma to participate as a panelist promoting agricultural businesses, is a testament to our commitment and achievements. We have provided beekeeping and sustainability training and fund-raising support to the University of Florida, University of S. Florida, New College, as well as Florida's Statewide Beekeepers Conference and various garden and beekeeping associations throughout the US. Alma has also worked with urban/underserved communities in Texas, victims of Hurricane Katerina and orphanages in Tanzania, Africa, Philippines, and Ecuador. Alma's continued goal is to increase the number of hobby beekeepers and honey bee awareness.
We bring the best of the best to product development. We strive to support other small businesses and farmers in the USA and beyond. We actively seek out small farmers with best practices for ingredients. We also see that they are more than adequately compensated for their work, as we believe that when the stress of finances is lessened, the focus on the quality of their product and commitment to our collaboration will increase.
